Q & A: Block Party

Question: What is a block party?

Answer: A block party is a local party put on by residents of a specific neighborhood for a specific purpose and/or for enjoyment.

Question: Why is the church doing a block party?

Answer: We desire to glorify Jesus by meeting people where they are, build a relationship, and lead them to follow Jesus. On October 31 people celebrate Halloween, want to go to a safe alternative, or do nothing at all. Our church is trying to provide a safe, fun, family-friendly event for those who desire an alternative and those who also trick-or-treat in our local community. People of all ages and beliefs are welcome.

Question: When and where is it?

Answer: It is on Wednesday, October 31 from 5-8pm. It is on our church property (4117 Coronado Pkwy, Cape Coral, FL 33904).

Question: Isn’t it the same as a “Trunk-or-Treat”?

Answer: It is not the same because we are not having vehicle trunks as the method to give free candy. We are providing fun games for people to get candy for free. There are games such as basketball, bowling, and so much more! If you have been to a carnival, it can be similar but without paying money.

Question: Does it cost money?

Answer: Nope, it is free. We will have candy, food, live music, bounce houses, popcorn, cotton candy, crafts, games, and prizes all for free admission!

Question: Should I wear a costume?

Answer: If you want to wear a costume, you are more than welcome to do so! We do ask that it promotes a safe, fun, family-friendly atmosphere (nothing scary, bloody, etc.).

Question: Will it be in the sun?

Answer: As of now, most, if not all, of the block party will be on the west/southwest  side of the church property. It is very possible the sun will not be covered by the clouds. We have various trees, a portico, and a lobby for those who may want to be in shade or get too hot.

Question: What if it rains?

Answer: Florida rain can come and go in the same day. We will still have our block party, but the weather may force us to go with our rain plan in various spots on our church property. If that is the case, please follow the signs on our property.

Question: Where is parking?

Answer: Parking for volunteers is on the south side of the church property off SE 41st Terrace, and parking for all attendees is on the east side of the church off Coronado Parkway and Del Prado Blvd. Please follow the signs.

Question: How can I partner and/or volunteer in this event?

Answer: There are many opportunities for you to serve. We have various businesses donating awesome prizes for our raffle prizes. We also have slots for you to do a game booth and so much more. We want to be able to have enough volunteers so that you can also enjoy the block party. If you would like to partner with our team, contact Pastor Jonathan @

Question: I have another question. Who can I ask?

Answer: Please contact Pastor Jonathan Phillips, our Family Pastor, at for further questions and information.
